Descended from an ancestry of antique restorers and artisanal jewellery designers, Bibian Blue is a maestra within in the established Avant Garde fashion design scene in Europe. A literal cool hunter within the world of artisanal pret-a-porter corsetterie, her name sake brand unifies over a decade of bi-annual couture collections with distinguishable pieces of unclassifiable fashion which is both sensual yet unique, to allow her clients to ´tirelessly explore the boundaries of innovation and tradition.´

From her Eixample based Atelier in central Barcelona, the evolution of Bibiana Berenguer´s brand pays homage to the marriage of art and intuition, dream symbolism and inspiration through the implementation and application of more unconventional fabrication methods which she applies to hermeneutical patterns sourced from European art history and the Pre-Modernist movement.

Her inspiration is multi-faceted and not easily distinguishable, but her overall look is. A passionate observer of transversal artistic trends, Berenguer takes inspiration from often diverse and sometimes juxtaposed disciplines such as painting and sculpture, theatre and circus, music and comics.

The prolific marriage of fabrics and materials such as feathers, embroidery and lace are interwoven into structures intertwined with silks, leathers and vinyl’s which are harmonised and customised as exclusive pieces for each client. Each collection within Bibian Blue is meant to evoke expressions of realities which are yet to be happen. These notions are in turn melancholic portrayals of an impending time of uncertainty. The reinvention of mythological styles such as the Barroque and Neo-Classical period ignites Bibian Blue´s passion for technological experimentation and innovative new ways of working with materials and fabric which she lovingly converges into unique, yet highly feminine and functional wearable works of art.

The ´raison d´etre´ of Bibian Blue is not exclusively reserved to the domain of fashion, but a genus of originality for clothing that has almost literally been carved into fabric, with the notion of providing ´imagology to neo-romantic stories featuring retro-muses that are unfreed from ambiguity and sophistication.´
