LES INSOUCIANTS

“Les insouciants” is part of Lydia Metral‘s latest project about intimacy. She visits young people’s homes in order to portray them in their most intimate of spaces. It is a way for her to meet people and portray the way they live, which is sometimes in a very simple and delicate way.
Lydia tries to break down the barriers with her subjects so that they can relax – this gives them the opportunity to show how they really are. “Les insouciants” refers to the lightness of being at the time of the shooting. These young people apparently look un-preoccupied and relaxed, so they naturally abandon themselves.
